Coal Trucks
« on: January 17, 2021, 01:01:41 PM »
The master plan for the A&O 2.0 calls for a number of truck dumps for transferring coal to rail cars. This was becoming more and more common in the era of the layout. A key scenic piece beyond the loader is the venerable coal truck.

I think this will be a fun diversion that even folks not modeling in O scale can enjoy!

Here we go...

First up, a mid-1950s White 3000 cab over engine (COE) truck. Dump bed is scratch built. Truck is a re-issue of an old 60s era model kit. I grafted a second axle to make it a tandem. I’m looking into lighting options now. More to come!
